Not sure if this should be in the kit advice forum but anyhows.....

My brake pads are nearing the end of their wear and need replacing.

I have not needed to change them before so just after advice so I don't buy completely the wrong thing ...

The bike is a hybrid and the brakes are specced as ' Tektro/ SCB-36 A V-Brakes / blk'

So will any V-Brake compatible part work e.g. :

I have measured the current pads and they are 60mm long so I assume I need something matching in length? Wiggle list some 70mm ones but I am guessing they are too long :

Probably a stupid simple question but grateful if someone could steer me in the right direction.

Thanks.

I think you're alright with pretty much any V-brake replacements as you're using the 1 piece pads rather than the shoes with inserts that you can see are a bit more pricey on wiggle

There's a definite difference in performance in what you pay for, those Wilko pads look like the Tesco Value ones which are frankly terrible, especially if like me you weigh as much as 2 skinny people. :P Im using http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ashima-v-brake-3-function-one-piece-brake-shoepad/ which are much more powerful than the budget one's id been using, particularly in the rain. They squeal a bit in the rain for me, but looking at the reviews seems im pretty much alone in that, and might be more to do with dirty rims.
