A witness who was walking with her small children along Petersburgh Road at the time, dialled 999 to contact police, telling the emergency services operator: "The van smashed right into him and drove off. It actually swerved to hit him on purpose."
The incident is unlikely to have gone to court. So WELL DONE to the witness who took the time to report it

Been against hanging since the Bently case in the 50's BUT at times!!!. Maybe the their is a case to bring back hard labour for crimes like this.

He will have a driving licence at the end of it. Or the opportunity to regain it.

If he had got more than 3 months the first time he did this may be he would have thought twice this time.
+1 with a witness saying this, they should have charged him with attempted murder. If he used a knife he would be, so why not because he use a car?

doubtful in this unfortunately. Someone who reacted in the heat of the moment maybe but, but with his record and his obvious hate towards authority, prison will probably only make him worse.
as said, they should bring back corporal punishment. no one likes pain and a few public lashings would soon clear the prisons!
