Can anybody tell me the difference between the Ultralite 200 and the Force ten Vapour 200 other than the obvious price difference.

The force Ten Vapour isn't listed on the Vango website - so maybe it's the same product with different names (a quick skim read didn't suggest any obvious differences).

Your best bet might be to check out the specs on the vango website - and then ask here for interpretation/advice.

Could the name Force Ten Vapour 200 as opposed to Ultralight 200 be a clue?

Weight of tent, water proofing and anti rip/tear specs of the fabrics?
Pole materials, number of and structural positioning.

Force Ten to me suggests a tent that can withstand and rebuff a full on storm of ........ Force 10?

Where as Ultralight 200 suggests ultralight.

I think force ten is vango's expedition/mountain range.

That certainly used to be the case... the original orange cotton Force Ten Mk3 & Mk4s were good for 30 years+ normal use.
Gutted that my nylon Mk2 gave up the ghost after only 20 years.

From the specs I could find it seems that they are now using the Force Ten name for products which will prove rather less durable.

But why on earth buy a single skin tent that weighs 1.3 kgs? Get a Terra Nova Laser (regular Laser, not the Comp or the Photon) - same weight, but twin skin, so far less condensation.

Aye and then some! I've a cotton Mk3 that I inherited (borrowed/swapped and forgot to give back) some 25 years ago and it is still going strong. Too heavy for putting onto the bike, well it is now but back then? Lightweight? only weighs about 10 lbs!
Only repairs it has had was a new zip on the inner, sewed in by my Mum and a couple of new A pieces for the poles.
