I recently purchased a Verenti Millook from Wiggle but after a few rides on mostly good tarmac roads I found that that the lacquer on the paint work especially around the rear chain stays had chipped away. On closer investigation I found that I could pick the lacquer away from the paint with my finger nail, it did not appear to have a good enough key to the paintwork. I also purchased a Focus Cayo at the same time to compare it with the Verenti Millook and experienced no such problems with the lacquer or paintwork.
I have never owned a carbon bike before and wondered if there is a problem painting/lacquering carbon fibre, on my aluminium framed bike you would have to use a knife to scrap of the lacquer from paintwork. I have sent the bike back to Wiggle it was still within their thirty day trial and I am awaiting their response.
Has anybody else out there had or experienced similar problems with any Verenti bikes, particularly the Millook I know a number of members own Millooks from previous items posted, or was it just a rogue bike? This could influence whether I have another Millook or chose a different make of bike.
