Started cycling on two wheels in 1961 with a 3 speed Sturmey Archer, but soon out not so good on hills. So a year later I bought a Parkes Lightweight 10 speed racer. It was secondhand and it became well used until 1967 when I passed my driving test and bought a moped. Decided as there were so many worn parts on the bike I would strip in down to the just the frame and saved some good parts. 15 years later I resprayed the frame and rebuilt the bike. It followed me everywhere I moved to over the next 27 years and was never ridden until recently. Now have just done modifications to it prior to selling.
