isn't viagra just a specific vasodialator? i believe a few athletes take this in the belief it helps blood flow to the muscles etc.
can't imagine running the 100m packing wood mind, especially in those lycra shorts they wear...

The drug companies are making viagra eye drops, totally useless just makes you look hard
There's a new beverage on the market...it's called Viagraccino - one cup and you're up all night.

And did you hear about the man who spent too much money on Viagra, now, he's hard up.

Thieves broke into a chemist's at the weekend and stole 500 bottles of Viagra. Police say they are looking for a gang of hardened criminals who will face stiff penalties when they're caught.

viagra works regardless of the state of 'horniness' or otherwise; as pointed out earlier in the thread it's most famous indication was discovered as a side effect when used as cardiac medicine.

other drugs, such as cialis, have been developed specifically for erectile dysfunction, and their advantage is that the patient needs to be in the mood for the effect to be felt, so to speak.

there was a drug called uprima which worked on those lines that claimed a very swift action, but as it was claimed to be 10 seconds shorter than clinical trials found, and it was pulled shortly after a massive launch.

sorry i can't offer a shaft of wit in this thread ;)

The common misconception with Viaga is you take it and then half an hour later you are walking about with a rager automatically. It's not the case. You still have to get yourself in the mood and once you have then it stay like that for up to 8 hours. You probably had fake gear as anytime I used it for a recreational purposes it was a nightmare and couldnt get rid. Girls I was with had fun though.

It's not like you have a sore head and you take a painkiller and it goes away. You take Viagra and you still have to make the effort so to speak and then you reap the rewards lol. If you took it and never got yourself into a hightened sexual state then it wouldn't just give you an automatic boner.

I have no doubt you had fake or out of date viagra

Viagra was not developed for the current application. It was developed as a heart drug. It was only as a result of lots of the trial patients not on the placebo reporting a much appreciated side effect that Viagra as we know it was born. There is no reason for any of those patients to have had a placebo effect reaction of the type they did - it was about as blind a blind trial as you can get.

So I would put it down to your experiment being flawed.

Correct.

I'm a paediatric nurse, many of my little patients are on viagra for cardiac problems, causes much amusement for the Dads!

I have no doubt you couldn't have read the OP properly. Or saw that my experiment was to discover if the reasons you took it for, recreationally, was daft. I seriously doubt the pharmacist involved provided us with 'fake' or 'out of date' Viagra. It was as bona-fide as the saddle on the bike I'm about to sit on.

Where did you get the 'identical' placebos?

Oh, and it wasn't double-blinded because one of you knew which was which.[/quote]

By taste if nothing else

It would have been double blinded if you had given them to someone else who sorted the envelopes.

And it was not put in envelopes where an unknown amount of powder will remain behind adhered to the paper and stuck in the corners. And it was drunk in something other than water that would mask the taste.

so this bona-fide viagra didn't result in a bona-fide!

Oh, and it wasn't double-blinded because one of you knew which was which. It would have been double blinded if you had given them to someone else who sorted the envelopes. Also, post consumption, you would have had to had identical stimulation 30 minutes or so later to provide results which were of equal value.

My thoughts exactly.

Well in my younger days and having access to it through a mate who was a pharmacist I can only say that on the 3 occasions I took it for a laugh I might not have had the best sex I've ever had but I sure as hell had a boner that I could not get rid of. Something that on "normal" occasions is not the case therefore in my opinion it does indeed work.
