I never see any point in posting the minor incident that everyone encounters. Things like close passes and SMIDSY's.
I would refrain from posting viscious attacks and ones with pouring blood as it will often cause problem and complaints from people.

With posting videos, I always keep in mind that on the topic of cycling, they should try to be educational so that people can see how to deal with situations and the types of problems cyclists face on the roads.

I have cycled past the results of major impacts a couple of times, or scenes where cars are on their roof. The camera has been on, but I wont post the footage. I have footage of my own hit back in '08, it shows myself to be in the right and to have been caught out by an impatient driver (who claimed to Plod he'd been blinded by the sun), however it also shows the drivers face and I wish him no malice...

Everyone has their own barometer.

Human nature seems to be that the worse an incident is, the more crowd it will gather. A bloke sat on a Friday night with a bloody nose gets a group of two or three we have to move on, whereas someone having jumped to their death gets crowds and crowds trying to have a look, and get photos.

Not sure what this says about human nature. Perhaps at some level it's natural, but it's what you do with the photo/image/experience afterwards which shows your morality.

The fact is: We are a violent species.
We are so obsessed with what other people think, and how to get the best out of everything that we forget what actually matters in life. It is the same with the current situation the planet is in. We have become so self reliant on items and elements of this planet which are harmful to it, we have scarce resources left. And our keeness with not changing has resulted in us having a mad rush to fix things. We do not think ahead into the future, only about ourselves.

It is the same with crowding around people and becoming a sheep. Just look at the Derren Brown programme last night. A large group of people came together and ruined a mans life just because they thought it was funny. It says a lot about human nature and how selfishly violent we actually are as a species.

Mikey, does this thread have a connection to the video link which I didn't click on a couple of weeks ago? The one about the lorry accident or some such?

Not specifically, I was just thinking having encountered a few things on my own ride I didn't put up. That lorry link was so bad I felt quite guilty just for linking it. I'd never have published said video myself, it made me pretty upset.

I witnessed an incident today which I believe is not for uploading.

A female cyclist with a front basket of shopping tried to press the button at a toucan crossing whilst still seated/feat on the pedals. Unfortunately she was just too far away and ended up tipping over, she said she was ok, was probably more embarrassed than anything else.

You're right, totally unsuitable for YouTube...
