CC Neighbourhood Police Constable
Today was a good day. 3 tickets handed out for driving whilst using a mobile phone. Of course I only picked on one driver because he was in a minority group, another because he was in a flash car (allegedly) and third, because he had never ever used his mobile before whilst driving and could you let me off this once officer I promise I'll never do it again!

LOL very good. Bet they all have a little story.

Was riding the bus home today and the driver got a tad upset with a lady who'd decided to a) drive where cars are not allowed, pull in and park her car directly infront of the bus in a bus stop and c) when he thought she was about to move off flicking her right indicator on she stayed where she was and got out her mobile, engine running, to have a natter.

He gave her a right earful and everone on the bus scowled.

OT: On the way to work this morning just after the Charlotte Sq Temp'ish Signals (its bus/taxi/cyclist only at the moment) a Taxi squeezed up to me (I think they'd driven over the top of me but there was a big queue of buses in the way); I don't really blame them as they'd been waiting for ages if they missed green. Once round the corner you're onto George St, an urban dual c/w (at the moment a 20mph zone) and there's nore signals. The taxi took the 1st opportunity to overtake the queue of buses ignoring the fact that the outside lane (which there in) has red, whilst the inside (full of buses) has green, shoots right through Red; spots a fare and swerves left to the kerb right in front of the lead bus. I wouldn't have been surprised if that driver scowled too.

Good for you.

Perhaps you could come to Manchester though to sort out the useless waste of space Police Officer hanging back from the ASL in the middle of 3 lanes (whilst I was in the right hand lane) to gun it and undertake me and swerve across in front of me to the outer of 2 lanes that my lane led to (when the lights had almost changed)... only to then swerve back to the left of the two as there was traffic stopped at the next lights.

He then ignored the drivers who were blatantly driving through red lights crossing the front of our queue (he had to wait for about 6 of them while our lights were on green!!) and then sped off (only doing perhaps 40 - 45 in a 30) undertaking a line of traffic moving from the lights.... obviously he didn't need to indicate for any of these moves either. Muppet.:tongue:!
