I just picked up a bike which need a lot of work, which I'm looking forward to. There has been a terrible home paint job so I need to strip it and repaint plus get the right decals etc. I don't know which exact year/model it is though. I just can't find anything with all of the exact same features. I have found Gran Sports which are close and a Rapide but not 100%.
Prominent things are:
Oval heron head badge - I think this means its 1960's?? It is in bad shape though. Painted over then sanded off by someone.
Wrap over seat stays.
A bit joining bar for the brake cable on the seat stays.
GB Courer brake and stem with the brake cable going though the middle of it! Nice.
Pump bosses on the bottom of the top tube.
I see red and white paint but there's a hint of a blue band on the seat tube.
Number stamped on the drop out but I can't read it yet.
Any thoughts? I'd massively like to return this to its original colour way and markings etc.
