Hi, what's everyones thoughts on the usability/viability of this old 1980 rim?

Not sure midlife. It's off a 1980 carlton pro am 12.

You should be able to get a period correct replacement fairly easily I’d have thought. @biggs682 should be able to steer you in the right direction.

The trouble is that braking surface looks very scored and well worn.

It's pegged, not welded. It is possible, even probable, that a rebuild would pull the joint back together. Though the braking surface looks pretty worn.
