I am with Vodafone. I used to have a good signal in my home, then it dropped recently. Thought it was just one of those things, either the weather or crap phone. I then noticed advertising for Vodafone signal booster for your home. And guess what.. it will either cost me £50 one off fee or £5 a month. Surely Vodafone wouldn't lower the signal to make you buy the booster? Or would they? Any one else have had the same problem with their signal?

Have you tried ringing them to see if there is a fault with the local mast?

It maybe a piggybacking issue wherby they no longer use/allowed to use a rivals mast. Also as gaz has suggested certain spots have problems, I was working near marlborough on week and our work got effected due to the local mast constantly going down, in that area it was a common problem.

Sure Signal is to help fill in coverage blackspots, they certainly wouldn't degrade coverage to try and sell more of the new Sure Signal devices. Having good coverage is too important to all of the mobile networks to risk degrading it.

Garz and Gaz are both also correct, it could be either of these things so it is worth giving them a call. When you log a coverage complaint with them it does get investigated.

I use Vodafone and can generally get a good signal. As others have commented, contact Vodafone and talk through the change in signal strength.

I was with O2 on a simplicity contract for £20, then in October last year I changed to Vodafone for a £10 a month contract, thinking I was saving money - ha! I've only used my phone two or three times and have had to keep the O2 phone as we have very little Vodafone signal at home.

There is a signal, if we are lucky, in the living room at the back of the house, but only from one particular chair and even then the signal comes and goes.

So, once a month I call my brother in Denmark with my free minutes - the rest of the time the phone sits in a drawer - false economy!

Cheer's all.. best give them a call then. It's definitely not the phone and I checked Vodafone's website which shows that coverage for where I live is very good.

When you call them, I wouldn't even mention this. They'll know themselves what they say for your address but, if you say it should be good and it isn't, they'll give out some BS about signal shadows and thick walls and you needing to stand facing the point that the sun rises on the vernal equinox.

If you say it used to be good and now it isn't, though, that's a sign of a fault / change somewhere.
