I bought a Wacom Bamboo tablet with a voucher my son gave me for my birthday.

This is where all the sketches are coming from.

I had Wacom JustWrite Office on 30 day trial until today, so I decided to pay for a download of the package. 29.50 EUR

It took three attempts to download sucessfully...

More drawings, sketches and cartoons to come....

I have a bamboo, too and not only is it great for drawing but it makes a cracking mouse replacement, too. No touching, just wave the pen around in the air, magic.

I've been playing with gestures in Chrome and Firefox and using easystroke in Ubuntu.. 1 out of 3 working so far.. OK not graphic tablets but allows one to control the computer using mouse strokes rather than point and click etc..

I just found an old Wacom Graphire in one of my junk boxes. I must try rigging that up to see if it still works.

Mine doesn't

I do like my graphics tablet for using with design packages and photo work. The Bamboo is fine for most things. I find it helps in avoiding strain compared to using a mouse for several hours at a time. (I do take breaks as you're supposed to, but a mouse is still a pain - literally - compared to the graphics tablet).

Having said that, I'm not in the school of 'do away with the mouse completely' - for general surfing, word processing etc the mouse is my tool of choice.
