I just installed the hanger at the link below to hold my MTB. My only concern is that since the bike hangs by the top tube, the cables under the tubes get pinched between the tube and hanger. I plan to get some foam padding for added support. Do you think the cables being pinched is an issue?

Update: Also, the eyelets under the tube are not aligned so that they can both rest on the hanger to relieve the pinch points (only one eyelet can rest on the hanger at a time).

I have a Specialized Secteur. The top tube is bent and the cables underneath go though clear air rather than hug the tube. I carry the bike up loads of steps several times a day and I do squish the cables against the frame. It isn't ideal. To get round the problem when using a workshop stand, I clamp the nose of the saddle, not the top tube.

I put some foam pipe insulation on the legs of the hanger and it helped a good amount but the cables still have pressure on them.
