Had a great time as the Torch arrived in Durham. I know a lot of grief has been caused in London but it's still something worth celebrating innit

I saw the pictures my parents took of it passing our place (I was in York at the time). Whilst I felt happy for the woman who was Danish apparently (I don't know either), I have to say that it was one of the most incongruous things I've seen in quite a while.

That said, apparently a school kid from here was chosen to do it, and ended up doing it in Port Glasgow. Seemingly they looked at the map and didn't realise that the RIVER CLYDE was in the way (as the crow flies it must only be a few miles, but in reality it's much further)

Still, Dumbarton to Denmark, that's a much larger error...... are there Danish service personal at Faslane or something?

When it came through our town, the closest runner to home was from the next town over ... the next closest, from Bolton. Nothing like that helps to drive up local support.

That reminds of when I was in P7, and we were told to colour in a picture of (supposedly) Jesus as a baby. I seem to be the only person who gave it any thought and gave the baby slightly dark skin. BIG MISTAKE!
The teacher laughed in my face (ok, I might have over done it slightly on the brown, but I wasn't going to admit that) despite me pointing out where he was born, and made me do another one, because seemingly Jesus was actually a member of the Nordic Ayran race with fair skin, blue eyes and blonde hair!

It is one of those moments in life where you wish you had a time machine and you could go back and observe it all over again and give the teacher a good talking too!
