Hi All,

We are planning to ride the Walney to Whitby ride over 4 days at the end of July. At the moment I have divided the journey purely on mileage but that may change if we get positive feedback to do otherwise. If you have done the ride over the same number of days and have any good recommendations for places to stay or things to see please let me know.

Day One – Walney to Oxenholme\kendal

Day Two - Oxenholme\kendal to Tan Hill

Day Three – Tan Hill to Appleton Wiske

Day Four – Appleton Wiske to Whitby.

Suggestions for nice lunchtime stops \ evening pubs will also be gladly received J

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Cheers

On your final day Roots farm cafe at East Rounton is a nice stop albeit it is very close to Appleton Wiske. Failing that there Chapters bistro or Howard's Cafe both on Stokesley High Street or Stamps coffee shop in Great Ayton. All are very popular with cyclists especially on weekends

Once in Whitby, if a fish and chip restaurant is required most are decent Magpie, Hadleys, Quayside, Trenchers to name a few or if f&c's aren't your thing then the Moon and Sixpence bar on the seafront does decent food as does the Stables pub on the outskirts of Whitby.

Be advised the stretch between Guisborough and Whitby can be extremely hilly especially off the main roads!!

Have a good trip, its a lovely area
