Markets are doing OK in the background. I invested my share of my mothers estate, when she died, in managed funds, and in the last 12 months I've made much more out of them than through working 9 hours a day.

In fact they're doing so well the funds are almost back up to the to value they had when I set off in 2006

I wish my Std Life pension was doing as well as the shares seemingly are.

I told the Friends Provident rep that I would only stay with FP if they remained a mutual society... they didn't so I moved the lot.

That graph is misleading [as they always are] as the base line starts at £3.20 not 0.
