want a road bike after holiday......

im going to buy a road bike after my holidays middle of next month, and i dont want to buy a decent one incase its not for me. whats peoples opinions on the carrera virtuoso http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/road-bikes/carrera-virtuoso-road-bike-2015#tab3

im in the process of joining a bike club round ours which is more road based and need a n+1 for my mtb.

Budget? There are lighter bikes than the Carreras which have a steel fork and generic shimano components

I'd look at this one http://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-500-road-bike-id_8306944.html it's a decent one, I assume you mean more expensive. Other option is of course second hand

If you want to know how a roadbike feels, get to an Evans and have a test ride of a few bikes around your budget

Surely if you were to buy a cheap and crappy bike, then you are more likely to come to the conclusion that it is crap due to the bike, whereas if you buy quality in the first place, you will have a better experience, and if you still don't like it, just sell it!!
