Paint condition and age unimportant so long as it's decent or half decent quality (TruTemper/ Tange chromoly) is dent free has slotted cable guides, cantilever bosses, 11/8th threadless steerer, eyelets for racks and cages, vertical dropouts. Sloping top tube ideally. If it came with headset and a set of cantilevers that would be a bonus.
An old rigid hardtail would do... Like a Bear Valley, or similar.
