Looking at the weather for next week, it looks like it's going to be warming up, 8 degrees that's tropical to what we've been having, might get my shorts out lol!

Funny how when its getting colder, 5° is warm enough for shorts, but when its getting warmer, it needs to be at least 10°C to loose the long trousers!

5 degrees is warm enough for shorts? Are you mental?

I've been seeing people cycling shorts when it is below freezing, bloody nutters.

I'm with gaz on that one!

Went out today in 6, was great although I ended up a bit hot

Wouldn't you be risking totally buggering your knees by riding in shorts in that sort of temp?

I am still waiting to return to the bike after my Op before Xmas. I would have been on the bike last week but for the cold, it just seemed too arctic for a restart.

It won't be tomorrow but I reckon Tuesday could be my first day back in the saddle. Can't wait!!

Left the buff off and put my fingerless gloves on, wish I'd of left my fingered gloves on though, numb fingers! Still it was nice not to be worrying about ice for a change.

I had to wear my shorts today as my tights weren't dry after washing them last night. It was fine  2C according to my bike computer, felt tropical compared to last week!

I agree with it being very very nice to not have to worry about ice. . . Still had my winter gloves on though!

Gloves are the last thing that I go short on. I'll go out in short sleeves, shorts, but full fingered gloves if I'm riding hard in cold-ish weather.

8C? Well that's calf guards with fleeced 3/4 longs, compression top under a windproof jacket & thinner windproof gloves. A lot of people say I overdress but I'd much prefer to put power into going forwards than keeping my self warm.

As for shorts at 8C... surely you mean 18C?!
