You may be familiar with the signs on concrete mixers that warn cyclists not to pass on the inside.

I saw a variation of this on an aggregate lorry on my way into work this morning. On the rear mudflaps there were a couple of number plate signs that said "SU A SIDE" on the left and "PASS SIDE" on the right. Nice to see the company trying to warn people to the dangers.

Saw an idiot this morning squeeze up the inside of a refuse lorry and then the row of cars in front of it at the lights.

It was so tight a squeeze that the only way he could fit was by leaning himself & the bike in towards the kerb, putting his left foot on the kerb and hopping on it to move forward, then ducking under the lorry's wing mirror. The leaning was because there wasn't space to move along in an upright position without his bars jamming against the lorry.

Utterly suicidal and utterly idiotic. I dread to think what would have happened if the lights had changed when he was doing it.

Not quite the same thing but a couple of weeks ago I noticed a cement mixer with a ''Not fitted with hyperdrive'' sign on the back. I'm not entirely sure how cyclists are supposed to modify their riding in the light of this information.

if he knew the timing of the lights and the truck had enough cars ahead to give notice of the truck starting to move, presumably in a straight line, then why not

I've footed up the inside of vehicles too close to the curb to ride past if it's preventing progress if I'm confident they're not about to move

That one sounds as though it is possibly aimed more at the impatient motorist than cyclists?
