Hello hello

I seem to have collected a drawer full of 'stuff' and actually use very little of it. I have some bright yellow karamoor cycling t shirts, and a pair of baggy shorts with kinda lady tights inside. They fit, and have pockets. I like em. When it's warm, that's me sorted for my commute.

When the weather is colder I get all confuddled. I have a night vision waterproof jobby, but that makes me sweat like a piggy. Are there any good breathable lightweight jacket type things I can wear? Can you recommend something?

Also what to wear under it? If I wear a t shirt it gets soggy and cold. Blurgh.

I bought some Aldi winter trousers that seem the mutts nuts, but not cold enough to try them yet. I have some lycra too, but in attempt not to seriously offend friends, family, and anyone that might see me; they are never coming out of the drawer.

Any advice of what to wear for my daily commute would be great!

Taverymuch.

I only wear my Nightvision Evo when the temperature falls below 5degs. Any higher then that and it's too hot.
You don't want to be wearing a t-shirt for cycling. The cotton material just fill's up with sweat, doesn't dissipate, makes you cold and tends to stink. Get yourself a cycling top or a base layer to wear under the Nightvision.

I base my clothing for my London commute as so.

Weather above 10degs. Short sleeve cycling shirt and shorts.
Weather below 10degs, as above but with a Montane Featherlite jacket on top.
Lower then 5degs then a pair of tights with the shorts and the Nightvision Evo.

That's good to know, I have a base layer but, well... I look like a retired superhero that has eaten all the pies. And it seems quite thick and wooly, I worry I would get hot?

I will look up that featherlite jacket, i think it's something like that I need to find. Something just to take the edge off but won't make me poach underneath it.

Don't worry about what you look like. If you are comfortable, not too warm or not too cold, then that is all that matters.

Yes you're right, my bright yellow lid has made me realised being seen and not being squished by busses cannot go hand in hand with looking in anyway cool...

LOL you're right.
With what you are wearing in your avatar, a cycling top making you look a little lardy is the least of your worries.

I use nike miler ls running tops as base layers. About £15 from sports direct. Merino or a thicker ls cycling jersey from mountain warehouse if colder. With a hi viz altura night Vision. Buff useful and skull cap under helmet. But I get cold and hate getting wet as get even colder.
