OK, I am doing this ride to Cambridge tomorrow .

Should I put tap water or diluteable orange juice in the bottles?

I personaly prefer squash - pineapple in my case - I find it tends to satiate my thirst better than plain water - I drink little and very often rather than a large glug every now and then

Whatever you normally drink on a ride really.

I like blackcurrant squash, but for some reason I prefer it diluted much more when riding than when drinking it normally.

I don't like squash, which is probably what you mean by 'diluteable orange juice', because it has sugar, artificial sweeteners and other crap in it. I just use 1 part of concentrated orange juice to 2 parts of water. It's a much nicer taste. It's also good to add some freshly squeezed lemon to add a bit of a tang.

Whichever you prefer the taste of. The amount of sugar in the orange squash is going to make a negligable difference physically.

I like diluted juice - basically I know I will drink more of it than neat water, but I don't want it at normal strength either. And if I'm running out of it I can always find some more water and dilute it again...

plain water usually, sometimes diluted orange juice (50:50) if I've got some handy.

Their drink 2 "Thirst burst" is pretty much what I do. 50:50 apple juice with water. When camping (like last week - have yet to post report!) I take some general squash - normally lemon - as it means not carrying quite so much liquid with me all the time or depending on being able to buy juice wherever I stop. I always have squash just sweetened with sugar rather than low sugar, nutrasweet varieties.
