It went really well. Cracking route, 170 miles Morecambe to Bridlington. (Do it n this direction with the tail wind!)
Three of us, riding varied bikes - my Thorn Raven, a specialised road bike and a Hybrid - We did it in 2 1/2 days, stopping in Settle on Friday night and then just before York on Saturday, segments of 35/68/68, with the Saturday segment including most of the hills. We didn't do much training, a couple of longer rides. I commute every day. Surprised how much the hills take out of you later on, as we were pretty tired Saturday evening, but despite doing the same distance could have ridden further on Sunday.
Like a lot of sustrans routes its very much on quiet roads, too much so, sometimes where you zigzag rather than riding on the obvious but bigger route. Most of it is great though, a lovely run out of Morecambe on an old rail line, then the backroads through to Settle and up and down to Rippon ( a wonderful long gentle descent) including some National Trust estates. Long flat sections to York, - the only place where route finding was less obvious) and then flat again to the Wold (I didn't know Yorkshire had chalk hills). Some of this was rougher off road paths, not so much fun, but perfectly ridable. After the great Wold roads it's the flat run to the coast. We had perfect weather only overnight rain) and great ride, no mechanicals. Met several other riding groups en route, but had no trouble with getting the bikes home by train either. Really fun.
I'd happily do another tour if they're all this good.
