He'd better drink up - won't want his tea to get Luke-warm...

Actually, the bible I referred to is both OT and NT. But it's definitely Gideon: it has a brown cover, if that means anything. I just checked it. I had to wait until there was no-one else in the canteen...

I'm perplexed. Our works canteen is unstaffed and doesn't serve meals: all it consists of is a room with sink, kettle, fridge, microwave, etc., and vending machines nearby, so you can prepare food for yourself. And tables to sit around and chill out (very useful!). A lot of the time it's deserted.

There's also a bookcase full of second-hand books: the idea is that staff can bring in any books from home that they no longer want, put them on the shelves, share them with colleagues, so to speak. Very good idea.

Recently, one of those Gideon bibles appeared on the shelves. No idea who brought it in. Odd thing is, whenever I go into the canteen, I always see it lying on a table. Never seen anyone read it. Just that it's always on the table. Whenever I see it, I quietly replace it on one of the shelves - and next time, there it is back on a table.

Don't want to upset anybody, but...?????
Maybe they were praying for a proper canteen. The sort that serves food, perhaps.
