Weather induced extra mileage

Due to it being a lovely day yesterday decided on going the scenic route back home, 16 mile 80 percent rural riding, the sun warm on my face, really enjoyed it! Reminded me why I love cycle commuting. Just wished I'd had my shorts on. Put the shorts on this morning but I don't think it's got to be as warm today, first time in shorts this year, think I might have dazzled other road users with my milk bottle legs though!

I didnt realise just how lovely it was yesterday and did my commute to work (16.00 i work nights) in a freaking jumper lol. Needless to say 7.5 miles later I looked more like a sweating raddish than anything resembling milk.

It was gorgeous yesterday, wasn't it? It definitely made me regret not getting out the nice bike, otherwise I'd have taken the long way back myself.

But, the sun's come out and it doesn't look bad at all. I think it'll be the long way home - breaking out the shorts for the first time this year, too!

Nice one.
I enjoy my cycling and commute so much (even in SE London), that I extend my commute every day come rain or shine. I know it's mad.. I have been cycling home in the peeing rain thinking "ok it's only another 3 miles home that way, but I will do my usual loop adding another 3 miles on top"... it's madness I tells ya!

Yep it's been lovely. Got a shock when I left the house this morning at six in fingerless gloves though, needed a big coffee to thaw the fingers out at work. Should have paid attention to Shefali on the weather forecast last night !

Lol yes I was in shorts and short sleeve top with fingerless gloves this morning, I was a bit cold on the way in. Leg and arm warmers tomorrow morning me thinks!

Been in shorts for a few weeks now. Have to cycle hard in the morning to get some heat into the body, though!!
