I'm going to my first ever Burns Night on Saturday. I'm not sure if it's best to be prepared or just to ignorantly let events unfold. Either way, if haggis & bashed neeps are on the menu - bring'em on.

Depends on how formal the event will be and how many are in attendance, but it might help you to enjoy the evening more if you have some idea of the format

Enjoy!

This might not be the point to admit that I'm giving the toast "To the Immortal Memory of Robert Burns" at our mountaineering club Burns Supper tomorrow...

We are hosting a Burn's night this Saturday and there is only 1 Scot attending. Just an excuse really for a party, but I love Haggis and Whisky

Thanks for the entertaining replies and the link (Snorri).:giggle:

The "Supper" is an informal one that is being held at a neighbour's house. It is being hosted by two local, and recent Kingdom of Fife, exiles to the village, keen to show us here in "Shasainn" what we're missing (?) north of Gretna Green?

The only reservation I have is that I made an inebriate remark recently about reciting "To a Mouse" in the Scottish dialect - with a Yorkshire accent?
