Last week, I only managed three days cycle commuting, due to taking the car for a service (why would anyone want to drive to work every day?) and having a day off. For the first time ever, I had a driver get out of his car and threaten me and then, two days later, I had another.
The contrast came at the weekend when I was one of the team that rode a seven-seat conference bike (www.cosybike.co.uk) from Derby to York. Almost everyone we met was pleased to see us - smiling, waving and honking their horns (in a friendly way!). Even those caught in the tailback seemed quite happy when they saw what had caused it.
