I was out for my normal morning ride this morning, absolutely p1ssing down.

I didn't see one other cyclist, where as I'd normally see about 15.

Where did they all go?.....

Maybe they were all busy and it was pure coincidence that it was raining

I'm loving the rain!

I just hope it'll hang around for my commute home as well... Especially as, on the way home, I don't have to worry about how wet I get.

Bayerd, it's all a big pi*s take by the rest of the cyclists. They have all collaborated with each other so that this morning, you are the only dipstick out in the rain whilst they take the nice and dry train/bus/car instead!

Did you see anyone out taking a picture of you and sniggering??

I was whinging to a friend a while back about how much extra stuff i was having to carry "just in case" it rained. Over, shoes, jacket, wet weather gloves, high vis....

I asked him how he'd been finding it and he replied

"its summer, so even the rain isnt very cold...I just wear the same gear and get wet"

I felt like a porper fair weather cyclist and have ridden in shorts and a tee ever since...just my luck it hasnt rained a drop since

I only carry as much looks reasonably sensible in the back pockets of my cycling jerseys/jackets.

i.e. didily squat.

Once I actually get round to fitting the drinks holder/frame to the bike then I'll get more space for things!

Aye I was out the other day there in my jumper, some jogging bottoms and my clippie shoes, thinking that would be enough. Guess who didn't look at the weather forecast??

I got soaked to the skin and was soon absolutely freezing ....and this was before I got the puncture.

I wasn't a happy bunny, I can tell you and just jumped on the train instead. (I think I stood under a heater in Paisley Gilmore Street station for about 5 mins just warming myself up!).

Luckily I don't have to commute currently, so was just out for a training run.

I don't think I saw one.....

The bus that passed on the other side of the road and launched a tidal wave into my face might be one reason why they are possibly the sensible ones

Perhaps they all melted....

To be honest, it was raining that hard this morning I think I'd have taken the bus/car/train too. Only reason I didn't is I'm not a soft, fairweather only jessie :wahhey:

Lovely ride in the rain this morning, I prefer it to 30+ degrees and sunshine for commuting. There were a few other cyclists, and today was the first time I've been passed by a colleague in her car.

She had a look of shock on her face when she said "Do you cycle all the way from Boulter's Lock then?".

Her jaw dropped even further when I replied, "No... that's about my half-way point".

yeah in my 15 mile commute this morning i only saw 1 other cyclist. Normally i'd say there would be 20! Don't mind the rain, but really hope my gear dries out before the ride home!

The only time I don't ride is when its thick snow or roads covered in black ice, as what happened in winter. Nearly came a cropper a few times on that ice.

Rain doesn't bother me in the slightest, that's what a shower is for when you finish riding hehe.

I have been drenched a couple of times in the last month. Clothing wise it is not a problem as it is warm enough so I don't get cold even in just shorts and a t-shirt. But, the real problem is that my glasses get very wet and I cannot see where I am going! Does anyone wear a waterproof hat/cap to keep the rain off their head and out of their eyes?
