I legally marked out my parking bays where I live, put a piece of wood on top of 2 paint tins to stop people walking/parking there as wet paint, 1 tin was empty, half in the other. Someone between around 10pm and 7am decided to undo the paint tin, tip the rest of it all over my bays. Had to be a neighbour. Why? I dont know. I haven't and dont upset anyone.

there's a real lack of community values in some quarters and a disregard for people's property.

I see folk sweep their gardens, but rather than collect the rubbish in a shovel and put it into their bin, they push it out of their gate across the pavement and brush it next to the kerb so it blows across the street.

To explain a little more . I picked up a stack of block paving from the allotment for £30 . I thought it would make a nice path for the bikes as I have a shingle driveway . Puncture heaven !
So I have started to lay the path on wet cement rather than mess about with whacker plates and all that jazz . A bit at a time on wet cement means I can do it now and then .
Cue wet cement no1 who stood on the path and said so you don't want me standing on the path .
Cue wet cement no 2 who stepped over the sign and then jumped around like a Russian dancer trying to get off the wet bit but it was all wet after the sign . That's why I placed the farking sign there .
Cue wet cement no 3 who side stepped the sign to get on the dirt but then got back on the wet cement thinking that the sign was just for that tiny bit and not the path it was blocking .
Wet cement no 4 will be tomorrow and will have a brick rammed up his/her shitter !

Wet cement no 2 does that as that's whats always been done . Ive lived here 18 years and never done it and the last person that lived here kicked the shoot out of him
Ive finished the path to my front door now so any "traffic" can use it . I bet they still walk on the garden bits I do as and when I get the time
I say garden , there may be enough for a small path and a flower

Put up a sign saying CAUTION DRY PAINT, and see how many people touch it.

Perhaps people feel the need to check if the paint is still wet as some people put up signs and never take them down again when not needed.

The local council are terrible and it's normal to find "Caution Road Flooded" signs in the middle of a heatwave.

Hampsire County Council had a road on my ride resurfaced (top dressed, it's like industrial strenth very very coarse grade emerycloth:cursing:) and put up "no road markings" signs. Couple of days later painting gang came along and put markings down but didn't think to remove the no markings signs. Last time I went through they were still there and this is now four months on:headshake:.

Not so much wet paint but wet concrete .
What is it with people , there is a sign saying WET and they still have to go near it
I'm changing the sign tomorrow from WET NO WALKING PLEASE to **** OFF !
Put up a sign that says "WARNING!!! Avoid ANY contact with skin or clothes- if skin contact find urgent medical assistance and/or wash affected clothing immediately with copious and clean water."

I think it was Terry Pratchett that said (Or words to the effect)..

If somewhere there was a button marked 'End of the Universe Switch, Do Not Touch under any circumstances, and we really really mean that' there'd be a queue of people out of the door just wanting to push it to see what happened.
