I actually like the idea of the Helios bars, nice clean look. No faffing with rubber rings or clamps that vibrate loose leaving the light either pointing at the ground or frightening passing birds and difficult to steal.
It actually looks like they have been designed by bike riders (ok - geeky bike riders) to enhance something that works ('bars) rather than a bunch of design students trying to re-invent the wheel.

I like the idea but the frame looks just awful. I think that it could be a winner if they devise a good way of cleaning the wheel, and a good way of changing the tube, and a good way of braking. Pretty much doing exactly the same as a hubbed wheel does.
