Indeed. Went to Hamstead Heath y'day for the conker competition and it was absolutely glorious. Just sorry I wasn't in shorts.

Lovely and sunny in Swindon, rode in on my Marathon Winters, not needed this morning, just riding them in for 25 miles or so before I really need them, something with making sure the metal studs are seated properly..

Amazingly not. And get this, my daughter *was* actually wounded by flying conker-shrapnel! Drew blood. We're thinking of sueing...

I have to be honest, we were pleasantly surprised. We had been kind of dreading the whole H&S thing, especially as it was all happening under the auspices of uber-right-on Camden Council, but it all turned out to be delightfully chaotic and light-hearted, with cries of 'ow!' emerging regularly from the melee as people whacked each other (or, more often, themselves) with conkers. AFAIK my daughter was the only blood-casualty.
