Having a really crappy string of 'bad luck' So far this month:

Been on night shifts for 4 weeks
Playstation 3 stopped working
Heaters & Hot Water broken (now fixed)
Kids PC not starting (still defective)
Almost knocked over last night (driver admitted his bad)
Got a puncture last night
Went to fix puncture this morning and my only NEW tube had a broken valve
Cycled to local LBS on my fixie to replace said tube and got another flat on way home.
Finally fixed puncture after spending 40 minutes just trying to get the tyre off.

Hope that's it for a while as I will be spending the week in North Yorkshire providing the train doesn't break down. Should get some decent miles done in Yorkshire.

Oh christ! That makes my crappy day yesterday look much better!
Poor you...
Surely you must have used up your share of bad luck now though?
Fingers crossed things improve for you asap.

I know you think it's terrible but in the grand scheme of things mate I hardly think a couple of punctures and a few luxury electronic glitches are hardly life threatening. There are people far worse off than you at this time of the year.

Sorry for being an arse but I just saw a few things at a kids hospital the other day that put things I was moaning about into perspective.

+1 don't want to rain on your self pity parade but there are many peopleout there (including some CC'ers) that have had far worse things happen.

Punctures can be frustrating but its all part of the joys of cycling and hardly bad luck.

I completely agree. Very small issues but still bloody annoying. Missed one off the list though, I also lost my bank card.

yorkshiregoth was just giving us a list of some of his bad luck in the recent past and not claiming to be worse off than other people. I think those two replies are unnecessary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I was just pointing out that in the grand scheme of things he was not that bad off. Not having a go at him.

As Greedo says, We were not berating him (if it sounded like it Yorkshiregoth, I am sorry was not meant to).

Its all about the apraisal of the situations you are in, a few punctures and a broken PS3 is not the end of the world, bank cards are replaced withing 5-7 days and boilers can be replaced/fixed. String it all together in a day and you could argue its a bad luck, but not really over a month... thats just life!

Surely?

Just took the words out my mouth.

Apologies to you Yorkshiregoth if I offended you.
