nobody's mentioned mudguards. try taking a wheel, single speed or otherwise, out of a track end with a mudguard fitted...

no mudguards on any of my bikes 
Attach the mudguards using those safety whatsits used on front mudguards. Makes it easy peasy.

The only reason one would remove the back wheel from a fixie would be to remove the flesh from a pedestrian that was still clinging to it besides what crud is not caught in the baggies is soaked up by the ZZ beard so mudguards are not really necessary.
