What are these for?

I was looking at a Scott SUB and I noticed 2 rear facing screws on the front forks - about 6in above the dropouts.
Wrong place for lowrider mounts...
No disc mounts - so not needed for fitting mudguards (standard eyelets in place anyway)...

Anyone know?

looks like they are for mud guards

Look here at the picture with front guards added and they use those screws not the normal ones.

Thats the thingies - I've not seen mudguards (sorry, an urban fender kit according to Scott) like that before...

Me neither. There's also a couple on the seat stays. I assume they are for the same purpose.

St John Street also fit mudguards, but to bosses on their racks.

Shorter stays man more rigidity.
