What are your plans for cycling in the winter?

What are people planning on doing cycling-wise over the winter? Anyone planning any chilly sportives or audaxes? My club rides will tail off in the winter, as they only do Sunday rides in the winter and I can't make Sundays. I imagine the cold and rain will significantly reduce the amount of riding I do over the winter, as I don't want to wear out my bike before next summer, I am planning to still get out when I can though. I am going to aim for 50 miles a week over the winter. I have already surpassed 5,000 miles for the year so I don't feel too bad about cutting back over the winter.

Will still commute, knock the evening rides on the head but still do a decent run on a Saturday (weather permitted)

Same mileage as summer generally. Longest rides cut back to 140 miles but I will still generalky rack up 300 miles a week or so through the winter.

2 retro steelies are up and running ready for as much riding as poss and the old Marin mtb and 50's Raleigh are ready for commuting duties

Much like the "summer", which in our case just means the rain is slightly colder come winter. If it's dry I will try to get out, if not - there is always another day. Not worth getting wet for, IMHO..

Will be riding my steel frame tourer with 26 inch wheels and marathon tyres and it will have a flask of coffee/soup in the rack bag

The riding doesn't stop just because it's winter. Some of the best cycling days are winter days. Especially dry, sunny, crisp days.
And your bike won't wear out any quicker during the winter if you look after it properly.

Mudguards on and carry on . Imperial century challenge to finish . On most days if your flexible you can find a weather window to get out for an hour . Correct clothes and away you go

Providing it's not icy/lashing it down/blowing a hoolie....I will be out on the bike. As @ianrauk says, some of the best biking weather can be had in the winter. Just wear suitable clothes and get a move on

Depends on health and the weather, but I'll try to get out when it's light, dry and above 5deg

I do know I have a half day cycling around the temples at Bagan in mid November though

Unlike last year I will not be going out on my road bike with ice on the road.
