What Bike?

Hi,

Probably asked loads of time so apologies in advance. I want to spend about a thousand pounds on two bikes, a woman's hybrid and a man's road bike. I intend to join a club to get fit whereas my wife just wants to ride the footpaths with the kids. Are there any recommendations? Is my budget ok?

I'd have a look at the Giant Defy 2 for you
