I'm looking for some waterproof trousers that will look okay on or off the bike. I don't want over-trousers but some I can wear all day. I've just completed the course to be a Bikeability Trainer and will be working in schools so Lycra is obviously out of the question. I want some that will be both warm and waterproof/easy drying. I've looked at several and Hummvees look ideal. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
If I go for Hummvee's what size would I want as I'm now 32" waist and 30" inside leg. 30" - 32" seems to be Small but I've never bought small since I was a child. How do Endura's sizes come up? I don't want to get something with legs that look stupidly too long or too short.

I think the craghoppers kiwi are a decent pair of trousers I'm quite tempted to get a pair myself.

I've got a pair of kiwi's but find the ankles are quite wide and would need bike clips or tucked into socks. I'm looking for some that are cycling specific for ease of riding and comfy sitting on saddle.

Go for the Kiwi Stretch - brilliant for cycling, and if you get the crops they are even beter for summer.

Usually available through outlets or from TKMaxx for about £20

I've got some fab Karrimor waterproof. I think they're discontinued, unfortunately as they were made for Police use but they didn't get the business, so they were flogged off.

I also love the Kiwis and I'd suggest, if you don't like the shape of the bottoms, how about sewing some elastic loosely into the hems, to pull them in a tad without making them tight.

I don't know where yesterday's reply has went. Endura Humvees aren't waterproof but the do dry fast. On a club run they seemed to soak up water but thats probably unfair on them, comparing them to lycra, they are certainly less absorbent than other trousers I've worn. I found their sizing not bad, my pairs are medium (32inch) but I've not got the widest of waists (most of my gear is 30inch, at the time I was going for something that'd fit my legs.

I don't know where yesterday's reply has went. .......
I was having problems posting yesterday (I kept getting error messages). It seems that I ended up posting the same (or similar) post 4 times yesterday. I didn't think my posts yesterday had got onto the site so tried again today, only to find they had.
Thanks for all the ideas I've got plenty to be thinking about and visiting shops to try out.
