It's one of systems our surgery's used.

They started out with Systmonline, then we had Systmonline and Anima together, then we got Doctorlink (in addition to the other two). Now they've ditched two of them and we use a combination of Systmonline and Accurx.

There's another system for booking hospitals and clinics as well, but I don't think the GP uses that.

Im only a few hundred yards from my doctors so I wander down and book over the counter. They tut and sigh, but if I'm struggling with these ever changing apps at a relatively youthful 57 then lord only knows how the elderly are expected to cope. My Mum's pretty switched on and savvy but she doesn't even own a smartphone.

I did similar to book an appointment as Daktari is nearby. I was told that I couldn't get an appointment at the receptionists desk and should telephone them so I sat in the waiting room & phoned them.. Maybe that's the Anima system? 🤔

If they said that to me I'd stand at the counter and ring them!

Why are they wilfully making life so difficult?

We too have had a number of apps used by the surgery, sadly the current one doesn’t allow booking of appointment, you clearly have to be triaged by the receptionist. In my experience some are better and nicer than others.

The NHS app is great for reviewing test results.

I had to book a BT. Called in and was told they would text me a link. Turned up and tried it but none available by the date I needed one
Phoned up and got one on an appropriate date
Pretty pointless if the app is not live with the actual available appointments

Being triàges by someone with no clinical training and no lawful entitlement to be privy to any aspect of your medical situation is slightly concerning.

It is although I am becoming my own doctor. I get an alert / message, take my own blood pressure and record the results, pick up a form and then book at appointment for my bloods at a local hospital and then those results in turn appear on the app. The doc then has a look. I guess its more efficient then spending 10 mins in a GP appointment...

Anima, I managed to use it to book an appointment with my GP surgery. However, I have a BSc Technology and have had to dick about with computer systems all my working life. My mother, on the other hand...
