What I loved about commuting yesterday

Stop, then watch them skittle away sharpish. Drivers like this are so used to giving these gestures to car drivers they fail to realise that bikes can stop quite sharpish when they want to. Done it a couple of times and make to turn around. Very funny!!

My 2.5 mile commute in is normally brief and without incident or drama. I normally extend the ride home - and did 15 miles tonight. Lovely views in the dark of the lights of Kingston Upon Hull from high up on the Yorkshire Wolds (where Countryfile was this week)

It's so satisfying being able to filter pedal through gridlocked traffic. Those poor souls stuck in your metal boxes, oh the humanity!

Whats good? Finding out that you could have been spending twice the amount of time in the car that you did on your bike. Thanks for the news, Paul.

Today? Wind behind me and 2nd fastest time on that route ever. Post Christmas fitness is back!

I have that every night on the road out of Stourbridge. Standstill the way i'm going and empty the other way so don't even have to filter as i have a whole lane to myself. Bliss.
I had the same this morning, on a different road. But this time, on a folder.

How much more infuriating must it be to see someone bouncing off into the distance on a toy bike?
How much funnier & infuriating for them would it be if you could do a 'set-up' one morning and toddle past them on a little girl's Barbie bike?

Of course, it would need to be filmed by an accomplice to catch the driver's expressions...
