Born in Northern Ireland, lived in England for the last 30 years.

If born in Northern Ireland (a place I know well, and like) you can't be British, because it's the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I see nothing amiss with being Norn Irish

But I have found that using my Scottish birth can be most useful in some foreign parts where the angles ain't appreciated particularly

Well I'm definatly one eighth scottish and the rest is mostly english I think.

I've had that problem in an airport passport check before now....

Spending the money can be a problem as well.

True - problem is when we leave after visiting my aunts etc, the last thing they do is slip money to the kids. Once in the car we get it all off them and then have to stop at newsagents and spend money just to convert the notes to "acceptable" ones, whilst making sure you can't get any more notes as change!!!

Still its better than when I was a child when it was the coins too.
