what tyres can i fit on my bike?

have a carrera subway 1 using dbm 1 rims

the 26x1.6 tyres that come with it i find are hard work and i was wondering what other tyres i could fit?

The standard ones have plenty of extra width (forgive the non cycling terms ) and i use the bike only on road / tarmac cycle path

went to the lbs and he had some city jets for £9.95 each so i will give them a go
