So, it'll take too long to upload a video, so you can have a picture?

question. When the silver car passes, what would an average bus driver do?

What's your gut expectation?

(Your answer may quite well have been wait for the brightly flashing, rightly indicating cyclist to go past).

I should mention...this driver is no normal bus driver .... this is Clive on the 25 (technically 35 on this route). I got a nice smile as his hi viz started flashing with my headlight.

Seriously, this guy must make up for the faults of about 50 bus drivers. I know that he has gone off the route slightly so that people don't have to walk home in the dark and they can get home safer...the other night my friend was coming back from Nottingham and the bus she wanted wouldn't come (she was getting tired and fed up), but he stopped as close on the route as he could so she could get back on that bus...and those are just a few nice things that I've never heard another bus driver do ...

Soo...not really sure why I'm posting this, other than, if every bus driver was a bit more like Clive, the world would be a much better place! It's nice to have a friendly bus driver who isn't a "jobs worth" but provides the service that is expected.

(oh..he obviously waited for me to pass!)

Clive must be an Ex-London Bus Driver. The bus drivers down here seem to be really aware of cyclists and I am sure they would not pull out in the position shown.

Big-up the london bus drivers!!

Nice indeed but surely what you describe is quite a bit more than is expected from bus drivers anywhere?

Did Clive ever work for Yorkshire Coastliner buses?

He sounds like the driver of the bus bringing my wife's freind to visit us in a tiny village with no streetlights. She wasn't sure where to get off the bus or where our house was, and asked the driver. He then telephoned us (from a bus stop - although this was before phoning while driving was specifically outlawed) at his own expense to find out.
