It appears that the world of cycling in recent years has not only endured the invasion of ex-golfing mamils, but that mamil man himself likes to exercise the 'bike upside down' method to fix punctures, like kids with BMXs!
I recently witnessed a Garmin 810 and a rear Dura-Ace C35 take a pounding at the hands of mamil man with a flat. All the gear but no idea, doesn't quite stretch far enough as this mamil was unable to even remove the tyre from the C35 whilst his 810 made love to the asphalt.
Back in the day, turning the bike upside down was frowned upon, as was not being able to fix your own puncture in under 8 minutes, although rule breakers back then usually rode £75 Raleighs
