Wheels for Dawes racer wanted

Hi I have recently bought a bike for £30. I got a service and new chain and gears from Coventry Cycle Centre. The bike rides very wheel. I think the bike would benefit from new wheels. My budget is £100 ish can anyone recommend a brand, my bike shop do sell wheels, for £1000 holy monkey !! I can dream

Ring up The Bicycle Repairman in Prudhoe, Northumberland. Ask for Mark- they ordered 2no. 27" new alloy wheels with quick release and then handbuilt the rear wheel with a new freewheel hub from the second new wheel... if you follow what I mean as they couldn't source a 27" freewheel rear wheel with QR.

Cost about £75 for the pair including re-fitting my 5 gear freewheel cassette to my Dawes Lightning 2 months ago. Fantastic service:
