Wheels?

Can anyone recommend a cheapish set of 700c's suitable or can I use any old wheels. I've got a decent frameset but need to put together a beginners bike on a strict budget.

As long as they are round they should work.

Any old wheels will do;

They will take quite a hammering so it's best to avoid low spoke wheels and anything thats a pain to re-true.

I raced last year on a set of Shimano R500 wheels costing about £60 a set. They actually stayed true! The only real downside is they were rather heavy.

I would recommend the classic tiagra or 105/ open-pro rims; strong, reasonably light and nice and easy to get repaired if anything does go wrong.

Thanks for that, I've got a pair of Jalco's which I upgraded on my Spesh road bike so I'll give them a shot.
