Bewcastle, Cumbria, went on to ride, walk drag the bike on a circular route of Spadeadham forest, (not for the faint hearted). Repeated the ride on a Pashley PDQ which was mostly attrition. Passed near Gilsland, then Birdoswald and finally back to Brampton. Hard to say who took the greater battering me or my sandwiches.
