hi all
dose anyone know of a good well priced place to buy 20" wheels now i know there not hard to find, but im looking for ones with either a 14mm or 20mm axle and im also looking for ones that will take disk brakes, i would consider drum brakes but would prefer disks, also i would prefer 48 spoke wheels for the strength.
iv found loads of wheels with 14mm axles but i cant seem to find them with disk or drum brakes and i just cant seem to find any with 20mm axles im starting to think they dont exist lol

so in summery im looking for
20" wheels
14mm or 20mm axle
disk or drum brakes
around 48 hole rims

i hope someone out there can help me

48 hole 406 rim here http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/budget-20-x-175-inch-alloy-rim-48-hole-prod23900/
Sounds like something you'd have to get built, never heard of 48 hole factory 406 wheels. And why 48 hole?
32 spoke wheels in that size are immensely strong, let alone 36.....

im trying to avoid haveing to make the wheels myself (not confident in my ability to get it true) and i would prefer to try and find them ready made.
the only reason iv been looking for 48 spoke wheels is thats whats been recommended as i need a wheel with good all round strength but i would consider 32 or 36 spoke as long as i can find the brakes that seems to be the hard part finding a 20" with disk or drum brakes.

Pretty sure any decent wheelbuilder would be able to build them for you, assuming you can get the parts.
What's the bike (or trike?) they're going on?

iv just built a trike and im thinking of my next one. the first one has 48 spoke 20" wheels and they nice and strong but they have calliper rim brakes they work well but i would prefer more powerful and reliable brakes such as disk or drums i just cant seem to find them ready built. just because its easier to just get them and fit them

Try looking at Tandem hubs as they also often use 48 spoke hubs with disc brakes.
do they come in 20" wheels ?
so far iv only been looking at BMX wheels as they seem to be the only ones with 14mm axles iv looked at mountain bike and folding bike ones too and they have the brakes i would like but only have 10mm axles and i really need at least 14mm

i have tried most of the shops online that iv seen recommended on here but still cant find what im after unless i go abroad and most of them are asking silly postage to the uk

Trike wheels? Not a problem I'd have thought. ICE for one (they do custom bike builds and sell parts, so), Westcountry Recumbents and other trike dealers in the UK should either have what you're looking for or be able to point you in the right direction. If you don't mind getting from the continent, many more options, such as..

iv just emailed westcountry recumbents and a couple of others so its just a wait and see if any will reply and if they do if any can supply just the wheels
