Because they prefer bleedin Kylie.

I cannae stand Runrig. The Proclaimers on the other hand are marvellous; their "500 miles" is probably one of my least favourite songs of theirs. Some of their stuff is truly wonderful, with inspirational and poignant lyrics and melodies.

Why is one of the biggest Scottish bands, with their magical anthem missing from the Commonwealth games?

.. and no stranger to Hampden Park either

I get the impression they aren't wanting anything TOO Scottish just in case it encourages those dirty filthy nationalists.

Pathetic, I know.

They were playing it just before one of the wheelchair races started too. "The Last Leg" were having a good old laugh about that.

They were playing it at various events, however, at the end of the Squash yesterday (the last event surely?), they were playing Caledonia, and I just instinctively started to sing along to it with real passion. Loch Lomond has exactly the same effect on me, and I was singing along to the videos!!

Nae Donnie Munro = nae Runrig. That Canadian laddie is an impostor.

At least we didn't wheel out Travis. That would have been truly embarrassing.
