Not any longer.... after the unfortunate incident with the matron, the banana and the spork, even plastic cutlery has been removed - And he's never getting access to a banana again either I can tell you

oops missed that . still could be black if there was a 3 core down to the switch. Brown Black grey and sparks has gone against convention and used black as N . the oversleeve is the identifier tho.
Why would they of done that though it won't have override on cos it's a 2 way seitch

No need for the override on PIR . its a nice to have and not all fittings allow you to do it anyway. if you did need to then the 2G switch could be changed for a 3G on the same size plate .
Brown is live down . black "could" be a neutral, although unlikely grey switch return for light in the hall/porch. T& E from the switch to the external light providing Sw line and neutral or a 3core with brown as Perm Live black as N grey as sw line.

nothing in the regs to say you cannot use the cores that way although there is an unwritten convention that Black should not be sleeved blue and used as neutral on 230V AC circuits . grey should be sleeved as neutral and black used for other duties where sleeved. thats also another great reason to test circuits properly . one muppet subcon manager used black as N and sleeved Grey as CPC on an SWA when we used a 3 core as a single pahse circuit that gave some strange readings .
