I've narrowed my choice down to 2 bikes, but can't decide which one to get. so please can you help me.The bikes are trek x calibre 7 which I can get for around £540 and have been told and read that this is an excellent bike and well designed or the cube analog 29,£599 and has a higher spec, but the frame and wheels are not as good as trek?

I'd choose the Cube.

The fork on the Trek is nothing to write home about, the brakes and transmission are much the same on both bikes.

The Rockshox XC fork on the Cube is pretty basic as well, but you can get the Cube Analog 2013 for £499 at Hargroves.

The difference between the wheels and frames at that pricepoint is arguable. It may even boil down to your favourite colourscheme.

However, what do you plan to do with the bike? If you don't need a sophisticated fork then neither will disappoint. If you have that sort of budget to spend then have you considered Decathlon, or the 22 Calibre at Go Outdoors?
